Volunteering at the Hawk Mountain line at Kempton, PA. The Wannmaker, Kempton & Southern railroad offers vintage train 45 minute train rides.

Assisting the Rockhill Trolley Museum with rigging and transporting over 22 various peices of railway equipment from 1967 until 1985.

The last steam powered tourist train on the EVERETT RR was operated in October 1970 with the assistance of Hal Bortz, Charlie Knapp, & Jimmy McHugh, and a 9 year old JC McHugh riding in the cab of #11.

A breif history of the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad from 1964 until December 1985. Jimmy McHugh would be instrumental is saving the bankrupt NH&I when he became the NH&I's president in January 1973. Then in the late 1970's JC McHugh would become involved at the NH&I and would also help preserve the steam trains during the first half of the 1980's.

There are over hundred photographs of the NH&I including several rare photo's from the pre-operation days in 1964 until when the railroad declared bankruptcy in June 1970. NH&I. There are also other rare photo's from 1971 until when Jimmy & JC McHugh exited the NH&I in December 1985. ( updated 02/26/10 )
